411

Hey! Just a personal (probably boring) post today. Just wanted to keep anyone who reads my blog updated on the goings on behind the screen.

Well I've been working a lot recently so my social life has just kind of faded away... Apart from work I have been trying to finish a book I am currently reading, the title and my personal review will be posted here once I'm done, promise. Then I have another book upstairs in a Waterstones bag patiently waiting so that will be getting stuck into once I am done with this one While we are on the topic of books I pre-ordered the latest saucy novel from E. L. James. "Grey". Basically "50 Shades of Grey" from Christians perspective. I am near enough temped to read the 1st book over again to refresh all the wee details so that I can compare the story's, but by the looks of things my life will be too busy for that carry on. Of course I will have to do a review on this blog of the book "Grey" when the time comes, though that might have to be more in depth than usual and contain some spoilers... Time will tell.

On to TV now. I managed to cram in some dedicated time into finishing "The Blacklist" and now my life is empty! Why did it have to end?! Will season 3 please hurry up! Please! This show is amazing and as you can tell I am addicted. I was almost temped to write a blog post about it but I will hold off and write a review of all the seasons when it all comes to an end like I did with "Sons of Anarchy". Hopefully the end is a long time off yet.
Recently I have been glued to "Love Island" on "ITV2". I can't understand why though, because I hate "Big Brother" and to me "Love Island" is basically BB abroad... The girls are pretty much all slags (lol) and the boys are so up themselves it's unreal. But it is quite hilarious at times.
And while we are talking about reality shows, guess whats back?! TOWIE! Now this is where I don't care what anyone says about it, I love it! Really love it! I never miss it and never have since it first aired on ITV2! Although I must say I miss looking at Mark Wright. (insert wink face). So now this is back on I will be unreachable from 10pm to 11pm every Sunday and Wednesday night. I'm not even joking. No one disturbs me during TOWIE time.

So that's just a wee quick, more personal update on my life at the minute. A bit boring, I know. But to anyone who takes the time to read my blog more reviews and my usual type of posts will be posted as soon as I can.
Thanks peeps.

Poltergeist

A while on a girls night out, we went to see  Poltergeist in the cinema (only getting round to writing about it now). I love a good horror movie and I was really hoping this would be a breath of fresh air from all the really bad non-scary films that have been made in the past few years.

The film began quite good, a few strange things started to happen. Things moved on their own, the little girl was talking to "an imaginary friend", there was a few strange noises and they even added in some creepy clowns. Then one night the parents go out and things get a bit more intense. I must admit I did jump in places but I would like to add that we were watching this in 3D.
They tried to make it out that there was some sort of portal in the house, this is where the film started to go downhill for me. I don't really want to go into too much detail here. If you have read any of my previous film or book reviews you will know that I don't like to spoil anything for anyone. But anyway, there is a portal. A ghost hunter comes in to try and investigate and to me everything from this point on becomes a little OTT/far fetched. Frankly some parts are just plain silly and this is what I hate about these kinds of "horror" movies. It takes the scary element out completely.
I was actually quite disappointed in this film because it started so well. It was as if it was created by two different people, one who was creating a masterpiece and a joker who comes in and messes it up halfway through. Although some people get scared easier than others so anyone who gets easily freaked out could probably appreciate this film a lot more than I did.

I don't think I could recommend this film to anyone but I don't like to put anyone off who is wanting to see it. If you want to experience it for yourself please do as your opinion could be very different form mine.
